GIs Refuse Vietnam Duty
Six Fort Lewis, Wash., GIs, who had applied for conscientious objector status, were arrested June 28 for refusing to go to Vietnam after their C.O.. applications were denied. The six--Pfcs. Manuel Perez, Paul Forest, Lawrence Galgano, Jeffrey Griffith, James Allen and specialist Carl N. Dix--were arrested after refusing to report to a replacement station for processing to Vietnam and are being held in Ft. Lewis stockade.
